Discover your talents
For work to be a pleasure, you have to do what you like. Each of us has heard this phrase at least once. A bit of a cliché, isn’t it? But, after all, there is something to it.
There are many tasks ahead of the Virtual Assistant, but does everyone have the same scope of duties? Of course not. It is worth specializing, finding your hidden talents, and determining what type of orders are the most effective. This approach will translate into better motivation to work, increase the quality of services and customer satisfaction.
How to find the strengths that you will use at work?
Surely you have already observed what comes easily to you and in which tasks you find yourself best. You intuitively feel what your strengths and most vital qualities are. If you want to check whether your observations are correct and learn more about yourself, you can take a Gallup test. It is a specialized tool for the assessment and analysis of innate talents. Talent is understood here as a naturally recurring pattern of thinking, feeling, or behaving that can be used productively. Awareness of having skills will allow you to develop them and transform them into your strengths. The strength, in turn, is the ability to act close to perfection in a given area.
What is the Gallup test?
The Gallup test examines 34 talents divided into four groups. It consists of 177 pairs of statements, and your task is to mark on the scale which of them is closer to you. You have just 20 seconds for each team. The idea is to make your choices as intuitive as possible. Thus, it takes about 40 minutes to complete the test. The exception is dyslexics; they can turn off the clock and complete the test without time pressure. You will receive the results in the form of a report immediately after the test. Some of the descriptions will be in Polish, but some in English. You can choose between a report describing the five most dominant talents or a full version that describes and ranks all 34 talents.
I recommend choosing a more extensive version and additionally using the consultation with a certified consultant and a trainer of talents and strengths of Gallup. I, right after I received the results, was very disappointed. I didn’t know what to do with them, and I completely did not understand how to use the knowledge I gained to build my brand. Only a conversation with a specialist and a complete and reliable analysis of the results clarified my situation. But, ultimately, I am thrilled with the decision to take the Gallup test, and I recommend it as one of the forms of self-improvement.
How much does a Gallup test cost?
You can do the study online. To do this, you need to log in to the website: https://store.gallup.com/c/en-ie/assessments and pay the fee.
You can choose from three versions:
- The version for five talents costs PLN 105
- The full version is 255 zł
- The version with a consultation with a specialist costs about PLN 950
Unfortunately, taking the test involves the need to pay, but it is worth it, especially if, like me, you do not like to search alone in the depths of the Internet; you only prefer to act. I used the services of Mrs. Katarzyna Bieleniewicz, and I am delighted with the effect.
